Location
This program will travel to three beautiful, historical Spanish cities: Valencia, Granada and Madrid.
We will see the most noteworthy streets, squares and monuments of Valencia’s historic heart such as Plaza del Ayuntamiento (City Hall square), Mercado Central (Central Market), and Lonja (old silk exchange, World Heritage Site by UNESCO) among other sites. Our visit to the science city in Valencia will involve a panoramic walking tour by the former riverbed of the River Turia right up to the new symbol of contemporary Valencia. We will see the Umbráculo (a raised garden promenade) the Science Museum, bridges and the Ágora. We will also visit the Oceanográfico, Europe’s largest marine park and aquarium.
In Granada, there will be a visit to the historical downtown, Alhambra, Capilla Real and Albaicín. We will also participate in a guided tapas tour to experience this famous way of eating in Granada.
During our stay in Madrid, we will enjoy a guided panoramic view of Madrid and "The Austrias," the old centre of the city built in the 1600s during the reign of the Habsburg Dynasty.
